May Gurney lives up to expectations

May Gurney has announced extensions to key contracts with Essex and Norfolk County Councils as it tells the City that trading in the six months to the end of September has been in line with expectations.

In a statement released ahead of its closed period, the company said it has a forward order book in excess of ВЈ1.25bn and more than 95% of its business comes from long-term contracts. The latest additions to the orderbook are the extension (until 2012) of its highways maintenance contract with Essex County Council valued at ВЈ30m for and the expansion of its contract with Norfolk County Council to include highways maintenance through to 2014, which adds another ВЈ16m.

Full interim results will be released on 1 December.
