Surgo Construction and VolkerStevin have bagged two contracts on the latest phase of Yarm School’s £20m development programme.

VolkerStevin will upgrade existing flood defences and carry out enabling works including drainage in preparation for the construction of the school’s riverside development.

Meanwhile Surgo will build a new classroom block, dining hall and kitchen, as well as enlarging the fitness suite.

The school is also planning to build a performing arts centre, including a 750 seat auditorium, a 120 seat studio theatre, dance studio and a music performance suite.
